Industry access to Research Infrastructure/Core Facilities on the agenda at the regional precision medicine network meeting.

Industry access to Research Infrastructure/Core Facilities was the topic of the most resent Regional Industry Network in Precision Medicine. The discussion revolved around issues such as the importance of predictability, pricing models, tailored agreements, and queue systems.

The picture that emerged was clear: There is a strong interest for an increased share of industrial customers and collaborations. More and more research infrastructures now have offering structured services, advanced equipment, and expert knowledge to the industry. However, challenges remain, as opportunities vary depending on the infrastructure in question, given that usage, ownership, and financing models differ. A key takeaway from the meeting is that progress has been made in just a few years, thanks to new regulations and projects that have enabled targeted efforts to improve access.

For research-intensive companies within the Stockholm-Uppsala life science cluster, access to advanced equipment, services, and expertise are crucial factors for acceleration and growth — key components for regional sustainable development and continued attractiveness!

About the network

The purpose of the network is to have an increased exchange of knowledge and contact between different players in precision medicine in the region. The network is run by Stockholm Science City together with KI Innovations, KI Science Park, Flemingsberg Science and STUNS Life Science.

As precision medicine is a multidisciplinary field undergoing rapid development, we strive to create a forum for a constructive, open and helpful dialogue. Here, everyone can share experiences and knowledge and try to find flexible ways forward.

If you are interested in participating in the network or want to know more, please contact your nearest co-organizer.
